As an environmentally responsible alternative to deep well injection, our EPA and WVDEP permitted facility receives flowback and produced fluid from the drilling and hydraulic-fracturing process for oil & natural gas. Through evaporation and crystallization, wastewater from the resource extraction process can be beneficially reused.
This fluid is treated in a two-part process:
1. Pre-treatment of flowback and produced fluids, with the removal of Ba, Sr, TSS, O&G, turbidity and organics. Upon completion, this “treated brine” is transferred into a 150k bbl (6.3 million gallons) impoundment.
- Treated brine can be reused in the drilling & fracturing process, used for dust control, de-winterizing/de-icing on roadways and coal piles and meets all parameters set forth by the applicable governing bodies
- We can also formulate a fracture stimulation fluid geared specifically to an Operating Company’s completion design
2. Evaporation/Crystallization, which processes the treated brine from above and produces the following reusable byproducts:
- 80 tons a day of dry sodium chloride rock salt for de-winterizing operations that meets all parameters set forth by the applicable governing bodies
- Liquid calcium chloride (10.0 -11.6 PPG), which can be reused in the same manner as the treated brine above, winterization and drill outs
- We can also formulate a fracture stimulation fluid geared specifically to an Operating Company’s completion design
- Distilled Water is transferred into a 38k bbl (1.6 million gallons) impoundment, which can be reused in the drilling & fracturing process or donated to local fire departments
